Athletic Recap 10/4-10/10

On October 8th, the boys traveled to Upper Arlington to face off against the undefeated Golden Bears. The first half was very slow as Orange was only down 7-3 at halftime after a field goal by Jack Behre to end the half. However, Upper Arlington took over in the second half. On October 1st, boys football took on Dublin Coffman at home. The game was back and forth until the very end where the boys lost 34-28 in double overtime. Orange struggled to score to start the game as they were down 14-0 with 26 seconds left in the 1st half. Right before the half, Jake Werling threw it to Jordan Rudolph for a touchdown and Jack Behre made the extra point. Going into halftime, the Pioneers were down 14-7. On September 24th, boys football traveled to Hilliard Davidson. Orange took control of the game during the first half of the game as they went into halftime with a 14-7 lead. Orange started off their first drive with a 68 yard touchdown to gain momentum. On the following drive, Bobby Ogles powered through defenders for multiple 15+ yard runs. On Friday, September 17th, the football team hosted Pickerington North for the Homecoming Game. Unfortunately, the boys lost 44-29. Orange forced a fumble early in the first quarter to gain momentum, however they had to punt. Pickerington North scored on their second drive of the game to make the score 7-0. On Friday, September 10th, the boys traveled to their rival, Olentangy, to face off for week 4 of the season. Unfortunately, the boys lost 24-21 after a late Olentangy field goal. Within the first 5 minutes of the game, Orange was able to score a touchdown and take a 7-0 lead. On the drive, Max Reidlbaugh caught a pass for a first down and Bobby Ogles carried three defenders for a first down on the very next play. Fall Sports Recap 8/30-9/5

On Friday, September 3rd, the football team faced off against Toledo Central Catholic at home. Coming into the game, the boys were 0-2 after losing to Hilliard Darby and Olentangy Berlin. Central Catholic was also 0-2 coming into this game, but they were ranked 36th in the state. The boys lost 28-0 as they struggled to finish off their offensive drives. Jake Werling was able to scramble out of the pocket and evade defenders, but the Central Catholic defense was too much for the Pioneers. The boy

Boys Cross Country 2020 Season Recap

When the season began, the boys weren’t sure if they would get to compete this season. However, they didn’t lose hope. A lot of their meets got cancelled, but they still got to compete and they never took it for granted. Building up to the first meet, the boys would run up to six days a week either by themselves or in groups. They weren’t going to let COVID-19 stop them from succeeding and improving every day.

Girls Cross Country Season Recap

The 2020 cross country season was a year of success and improvement for the girls. By training throughout the whole summer, running almost every day, they were ready to take on the season. In order to make it to regionals by the end of the season, the girls had a long road ahead of them. Even though races are 3.1 miles, their training consisted of running up to about 8 miles. Football traveled to Coffman on Friday and suffered a tough 35-7 loss with JJ Calip running for the only Pioneer touchdown. Quarterback Levi Davis was 18 for 23 with 154 yards. Bobby Ogles led all rushers with 12 carries for 54 yards and Jacob Lattig led the receiving game with 5 catches for 48 yards. This week, they will host Upper Arlington.

Girls Basketball Season Recap

Girls Basketball wrapped up their season on February 15th, as they lost to Canal Winchester in the Sectionals Semifinals. The girls ended the season with a record of 7-16, with victories coming against Central Crossing, Westerville Central, Hilliard Darby, Licking Heights, Groveport Madison, Olentangy, and Lancaster. The girls were able to defeat Olentangy for the first time in 9 years, one of their greatest accomplishments of the season. Overall the girls improved from last year where they only
